FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Below are the some of the following questions we typically receive about the museum from our visitors and business affiliates:

Are we permitted to take photographs?

Yes, visitors are more than welcome to take photographs during their visit. We only ask that you respect the barriers and boundaries of the museum. Please also allow museum staff and volunteers time to fixtheir hair and makeup before snapping shots.

How long does it take to tour the museum?

That depends largely on the individual. You can rush through if you are pressed for time and focus on the larger exhibits and aircraft or you can take a more leisurely approach and spend a few hours scouring our great exhibits. Typically groups will anticipate staying for about two hours.

I have something to donate - how do I do that?

Please call the museum and speak with one of our staff members before bringing in an article for donation. We want to ensure that your keepsake is treated with utmost respect and also that it is appropriate and needed in our collection. We can also refer you to other museums or collections that could benefit from your donations.

We feature a wide variety of civilian and military aircraft that spans the entire century of Canadian flight. The one common tie they have is that they have all been integral in Western Canadian aviation history.

Can we get inside any of them?

Unfortunately visitors cannot enter any of our aircraft. They are antiques and very delicate. In some cases their restoration has taken thirty years. We want to ensure that they remain intact and undamaged for years to come. We do have several vintage flight simulators that museum visitors are welcome to "take for a spin".

We have a small kid's area set up with colouring and reading materials. Children are also welcome to try their hand flying our vintage flight simulators, or participating in our visitors challenge, answering challenging questions about the museum to win a prize.
