Welcome to the ASMAC
Does your son or daughter have a fascination with airplanes? Maybe you would like to book their birthday party with us! They can tour around the facility, open their presents and eat their cake here. For up to fifteen guests the cost to book our Lancaster Room is $95.00 and this includes admission to the museum. After fifteen guests each additional guest will be $5.00. We provide use of the Lancaster Room for two hours, tables and chairs, a fridge and prep counter for food (cake, snacks, pizza). We can also provide crafts at $7.00 per child and we can also have loot bags ready for the guests with items from our gift shop (contact us to get more information about loot bag items and costs). Please bring your own table cloth!
If you would like more information or to book your party please email info@asmac.ab.ca or call Jessa at 403-250-3752
The Lancaster as part of the Lancaster Project has seen a bit of "face lift" this summer and has had a brand new coat of paint. It has been painted to resemble noted Calgarian, Ronnie Jenkins WW2 Lancaster Bomber the WL-O - The Wee Lady Orchid - complete with Nose Art. Accomplished Artist Duncan Parker and his crew have transformed the Lancaster from once what was painted in grey inhibitor paint to full Bomber Command colours. It's a sight to be seen.
The First Aviation Museum in Calgary
"The Air Museum of Canada" was founded in 1960 but was largely a collection of privately owned aircraft. Disbanding in 1971, the museum's aircraft and assets were turned over to the City of Calgary and housed at the city's Planetarium for safekeeping and display. In 1975 the "Aero Space Museum Association of Calgary" was registered as a non-profit, charitable, organization and assumed the care and upkeep of these artifacts.
